Chulio Road Improvements
Project includes widening roadway, improve shoulders, adjust horizontal and vertical alignment, and make intersection improvements to Chulio Road from Boyd Valley Road to intersection with US Highway 411. Project is located in both City of Rome and unincorporated Floyd County. Residential areas including Woodfin Estates, Twickenham, and Hampton Preserve will benefit from this project.

Status Updates
10.14.2025 - Second plan review with staff completed last week. Turn count and analysis at Chulio and 411. Community meeting planned for December for ROW review, preliminary plan, and comments.
9.23.2025 - Preliminary field work is underway. Plan review with staff completed in early September. Community meeting planned for early 2026 for ROW review and preliminary plan.
12.10.2024 - At their December 10, 2024 meeting, the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Southern Engineering & Surveying, Inc. for design services for the Chulio Road Project. This bid was awarded at the November 12, 2024 meeting.
