Status Updates
10.28.2025 - Commissioner Hancock provided updates at the Board meeting:
Completed paving:
- Calhoun Rd., Padlock Mtn. Rd., E. Hermitage Rd., Old Dalton Rd.
Riverside community:
- removed over 3,000 trip hazards through grinding
- replaced over 5,400 linear feet of sidewalk
- installed 97 handicap ramps throughout the neighborhood
Infrastructure focus in Lindale:
- Traffic signal upgrade at Old Rockmart Rd. with pedestrian crossing
- Train viewing platform
- 12 roads resurfaced (2.75 miles)
- 55 handicap ramps installed
- 1,200 feet of sidewalk replaced, connecting main roads to Wolfe Park and local schools
- Traffic table installed at S. 1st and Terrace Ave.
9.23.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request for Amendment No. 1 to CMT Task Order No. 14 Change Order No. 2. This requires a budget increase to the 2017 SPLOST infrastructure account in the amount of $86,905.00. This approval is associated with the paving, lighting, and marking improvements for the phased construction of the Runway 1/19 & Taxiway "A" Extension project at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.
1.25.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase and installation of network switches from Logical Systems for phones and internet for the Glenwood FCPD Project in the amount of $23,420.00. This is a local vendor who supplies network systems for the County in several of our current buildings and was the only quote submitted. This project will be paid from the 2017 SPLOST.
12.10.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a change order from Metro Waterproofing for the 6th Avenue parking deck in the amount of $7,700.00
9.24.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request to award a bid to Blastoff Pressure Washing & Soft Washing Specialist for the 6th Avenue parking deck pressure washing project in the amount of $7,650.00. This vendor submitted the lowest quote for the project.
9.10.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request for additional work to the 6th Avenue parking deck project to Metro Waterproofing, Inc. in the amount of $21,680. This vendor is currently working on the project and the additional work is needed to improve the original scope of work. The original amount approved was $336,525 under the budget of $500,000, so there would be no change to the budget.
5.14.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request to approve ratification for Cornerstone Concrete Construction for Blacks Bluff Road repair at $106,630. This requires a budget increase in the amount of $106,630 to cover the cost of the work.
4.23.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request for TK Elevator Corporation as the vendor for the elevator renovation at the Administration building in the amount of $286,065.
1.30.2024 - Lindale and Riverside sidewalks and ADA ramps.
