Quality of Life: Parks
This project includes to:
- Alto Park - renovation of five (5) baseball infields to artificial turf, lower parking lot repaved, replace lighting at tennis courts to LED
- Etowah Park - renovation to baseball complex, addition of splash pad
- Garden Lakes Park - replace two grass fields with artificial turf for soccer and other sports
- Lock and Dam Park - addition of splash pad and wee go round
- North Floyd Park - addition of splash pad and wee go round
- Shag Williams Park - addition of splash pad and wee go round
- Wolfe Park - addition of splash pad and wee go round
Status Updates
10.14.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of eight (8) 9v9 16' x 6' goals; including wheels, nets, and freight from Lloyd's Soccer for Garden Lakes soccer fields in the amount of $26,560.00. This vendor supplied a responsive and reasonable quote with the lowest pricing.
7.22.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a Change Order from ASG regarding Alto Park fields in the amount of $8,485.00 using funds from 2023 SPLOST. This will require a budget increase of $8,485.00.
4.8.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a request for Advanced Sports Group to install synthetic turf at Alto Park using 2023 SPLOST funds in the amount of $1,117,990. This will require a budget increase of $995,990.
2.25.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved Advanced Sports Group to install synthetic turf at Garden Lakes using 2023 SPLOST funds. This will require a budget increase in the amount of $1,795,515. This is the project total ($1,789,425) plus the netting ($20,265) less the discount for the multiple locations ($14,175).
